Anea   August 2011 - IN PRODUCTION
A HOME FOR ANEA
- Next month I will travel to Moldova, to shoot a short documentary about Anea, a young woman with a mental handicap, who used to live under appalling conditions in a former Soviet-style institution. Thanks to the efforts of Somato, a Moldovan NGO, she is now living an independent life in her own home in a small village in the countryside.
The documentary about this pilot project will be used to inform both a Moldovan audience as a Western-European one about the tremendous difference to an individuals life this approach is offering.

MEN WITH A MISSION - Indian missionaries coming to the Netherlands

The catholic faith in Western Europe is in a state of decline. More and more people turn their back on the church. Fewer and fewer priests are available for pastoral work in the parishes.
Centuries ago catholic missionaries travelled to India to bring the population the Christan faith. Now it is time for them to pay back. More and more Indian priest travel as missionaries to the netherlands in an attempt to re-energize and re-vitalize the Christian community there. Do they manage? Will they succeed?

Mitrovica

THE BRIDGE THAT DIVIDES MITROVICA

Kosovska Mitrovica became the focus for ethnic clashes between Serbs and Albanians, exacerbated by the presence of nationalist extremists on both sides. The bridge linking the two sides of the town were guarded by armed groups determined to prevent incursions by the other side. KFOR troops and the UNMIK police were stationed there in large numbers to head off trouble. However, violence and harassment was often directed against members of the "other" ethnic community on both sides of the river, necessitating the presence of troops and police checkpoints around individual areas of the city and even in front of individual buildings.
